Dear Better.com Team,

We are writing to let you know that, with immediate effect, our CEO, Vishal Garg, will be taking a temporary leave of absence.

As Better.com moves on, day-to-day management responsibilities will be taken on by Kevin Ryan, our Chief Financial Officer. Kevin has an extensive amount of operational and financial knowledge from his time at Morgan Stanley, where he oversaw complex business operations and led large teams. As we move forward in the upcoming months, his leadership style places a strong emphasis on openness, teamwork, and systematic execution—values that are crucial to us here at Better.com.

We want to acknowledge the impact that the recent events may have had on you, and we know that they have been challenging for everyone. Please know that our top objective continues to be the welfare of our staff. We are dedicated to helping you through this difficult time and making sure Better.com is a strong, resilient organization in the future.

We acknowledge that the last few weeks have been difficult. Our first goal is still your well-being. To help you, we are planning weekly town halls to maintain open and honest communication, adding more mental health counseling sessions, and growing our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Updated materials have also been made available to managers so they can offer flexibility to those who require it.

Kevin is collaborating closely with the upper management to uphold openness, emphasize honest communication, and keep creating a culture of trust, respect, and compassion at work. We value what you do every day to help our clients and one another. We are inspired by your perseverance and commitment, and we think that Better.com still has a bright future due to the amazing individuals who form this team.
